Research

Newborn infants are a highly sensitive research population and therefore our studies will include societal, ethical and inter-cultural analyses of the clinical challenges, scientific methods and the possible new diet interventions. Breast feeding is the accepted optimal standard for feeding of all newborn infants,  but breast feeding is not always possible.

Hospitalized infants, with limited access to mother´s milk, are used as sensitive models for all infants. Studies on both human milk and infant formulas in Danish, Swedish, Dutch and Chinese infants are coupled with proof of concept studies in piglet and mouse models.
